My Story
Born and raised in Germany and living on Maui since 1987, my love affair with glass began over 30 years ago. Starting with regular stained glass and then glass mosaic, I was introduced to glass fusing in 2003 and have been hooked since then. I am fascinated by the different properties of glass - its fragility and strength, translucency and depth. I love to create pieces that add beauty and harmony to everyday life and your home.
I have studied with many respected teachers and at Pilchuck Glass School. My collectors are from all around the world.
In 2013 my mentor and dear friend, Tri-hue watercolor artist Dick Nelson, showed me an optical illusion, which fascinated me and after much trial and error I developed a method to make the illusion come live in my chosen medium, glass.
From 2013 to 2020 I showcased my artwork as part of the Four Seasons Wailea Artists’ Program and the Optical Illusion Cubes were an integral part of my success as an artist there. Now that I am retired, I would still like to offer this fascinating creation to you.
